Irv Gotti, the founder of Murder Inc. Records and one of hip-hop’s most influential producers, has passed away after being taken off life support following complications from a stroke. Gotti’s death comes just over a year after he suffered a minor stroke, which he had openly connected to his long-standing battle with diabetes.
His label, Murder Inc., helped launch the careers of major stars like Ja Rule, Ashanti, Lloyd, and more. Gotti played a crucial role in shaping the sound of hip-hop and R&B, working with artists like Ja Rule, Ashanti, Mic Geronimo, DMX, and Jay-Z. His signature production style blended hard-hitting beats with melodic hooks, influencing a wave of commercial rap and R&B crossover hits.

Our condolences goes out to his family and friends.
