Replenishing your spirit and body is key to avoiding burn out. We all have days that go unplanned late to work, flat tire, spill your coffee . On these type of days it’s vital that you remember to do things that will bring you back to your happy self. Here are my top 5 ways that I unwind when feeling overextended:
*Exercise: Exercising allows me to focus on my body. Walking and going to Zumba are to very different forms of exercise, but both bring me immense joy. I love the pulsing music and dancing to hip hop, salsa, and r&b. Zumba gives me energy and allows me to release any negative feelings or aggression I may hold. Walking brings serenity it allows me to daydream, goal set.
*Reading: Read a good book: yes I do still go to the library and actually read books may sound like a antiquated process, but I still enjoy reading and turning the pages of a good book. My favorite books are fiction books.
*Water: Taking a nice long hot shower or bath: there is nothing that relaxes me more than a nice long hot shower. Light a scented candy or diffuser. There are certain scents that I believe are must haves in your home (lavender, lemongrass, , jasmine, eucalyptus)
*Movies: Netflix or Hulu: Binge watching a new show allows me to escape for a little while have a nice glass of Ro’se or Chardonnay.
*Fellowship: Spending time with loved ones always boost my spirits. Spending time with people who love and care about my well being always lift my spirits.
Ms. Culture Keeper-
Reading was always my go to when I was stressed and needed to relax. I haven’t been able to read much the last year since my daughter was born, but this served as a reminder how important it is to make time for myself. Thank you!
